More energy

Well I am more than half way through this challenge and I have done alright so far. I have not been doing the best as far as the portion control, but I have been better lately. Now that the weather has finally broke has made it easier to get out and be more active. The fact that I have a four year old and a one year old makes it easier to get active. My kids wear me out, but it is a blast and I can keep up with them better with the additional energy I have. That has been the biggest difference, the amount of energy I have. I also appreciate some really bad food from time to time and what it does to me after I eat it. Til next time.

Dread

Alright, well we weigh in tomorrow and this is not a good thing. I have been eating terrible since the vacation and still haven't started excercising. This week I have eaten out a bunch and not been the smartest with the menu choices. Just got back from lunch at Bob Evans and had the chicken fried steak. Yesterday went to Spatz and had green bean fries with an italian sub. Wednesday went to the West Side Market for the first time. What an awesome place. I had to try everything there and we picked up some jumbo prawns and goat cheese ravioli with a red pepper cream sauce to make for dinner. It was really good. Tuesday went to Fuji for lunch and had 2 signature rolls (the best) then to dinner went to Don Tequila and had a taco, chalupa and enchilada. Monday was Beachclub Bistro for lunch and a grilled cheese and a bowl of bisque. I think I have tried all my local favorite dishes this week and it is all out of my system now. I weighed myself on Sunday and was at 227 after my vacation and I am expecting to be over 232 for the weigh in tomorrow.

I was robbed!!!!

Well I just got back from my vacation to Maine to go to my brother-in-law's wedding and it was a good trip until I got a phone call from my next door neighbor informing me that our house was broken into. What a terrible thing. It got me thinking that I posted on this blog about going out of town. What an idiot I am. I don't know how many people actually read this, but maybe the robber read it and found out where I live and robbed me knowing I was going to be out of town. Lesson learned the hard way. I don't see myself being a professional blogger so I won't worry about it anymore. Oh yeah, I gained 4 pounds during the vacation. Having a chef at the house we rented for the week probably had a lot to do with it. It probably hurt that I was up until 3 in the morning drinking with the extended family. Back to the grind.

Vacation and the Wall

OK, so I haven't posted in a while (sorry Laura) but I haven't really had much interesting going on. I continue to just try to eat right and still haven't done a lick of exercising. I keep expecting when I do my Sunday weigh in on my WII to gain weight and it hasn't happened yet. On Sunday I weighed under 225 lbs, a loss of 2.2 for the week. Amazing how bad I used to eat. I still have not had McDonalds since our first weigh in. I'm leaving tomorrow to take the family to Bethel, Maine for wy brother in law Kevin and his fiance Vanessa's wedding. Should be a lot of fun and a good test for my improved eating habits. We are driving the first day to the Great Escape Lodge north of Albany, NY. They have an indoor water park there so Otto and Keegan can work off the pent up energy of being in a car for 8 hours. Then we'll wake up and let them run around before we do another 6 hours the next day. I'll keep you posted during the trip. Have fun!!

Saw this coming

Well I did my usual weigh in on my Wii Fit on Sunday and I did not lose any weight last week. Kinda saw this coming with my carousing on Friday and a couple of other so so days. Lack of exercise is probably the reason as well. Its been hard for me to find the time to commit to a regular exercise routine. On Sunday I did play outside with Otto and Keegan for about three hours. After that I took Otto and my next door neighbor Paul to the driving range to hit some golf balls. I did hit the ball really well for my first practice session of the year (if you could count hitting balls with a four year old and a middle schooler as a practice session). I wonder if my 25 less pounds on my belly (I'm pretty sure that's where most of my weight has been lost) is the reason I hit it so well. I need to change my sleep cycle so instead of going to bed around 11:30 and waking up at 7:30, I switch to bed at 10 or 10:30 and wake up at 6 or 6:30 and hit the treadmill every morning because I don't think I could work a consistent routine any other time. It's kinda hard when on Monday and Thursday we are open until 9, which means I don't leave work until 9:30 most of the time. By the time I get wound down and ready to sleep it's at least 11:30 or midnight. I know I need to quit whining and get er done. Til next time.

Bad day but a good one

Ok well I had my first throw in the towel who cares day yesterday. It started with me going to a training seminar for Kia and walking into a room full of pastry's, donut's and croissant's. I did good there, I brought a banana and had a halve of a croissant. For lunch they wheeled in pasta and salad. Again, did good there, had a salad and about 5 ounces of pasta. Then the training seminar ended early and all hell broke loose. I carpooled with a couple other salesmen here and the basketball tournament was going on, so what do you do with free time on your hands. You go to the bar of course. I threw caution to the wind. Six beers and half of an appetizer platter and half an order of green bean fries (which are fabulous by the way) later I was feeling fat. It was fun though. We'll see how that affects me when I weigh in on Sunday. Back to the grind.

Getting lucky

OK well I haven't posted in a while. I've been super busy. I still haven't really been working out. I have continued to eat pretty good and I've probably been drinking more than I intended. So when I got on the scale this morning I was anticipating not losing any weight at all. Much to my surprise I weighed 226. Unbeleivable. I probably frustrated my wife because she hasn't been losing the weight I have. I can't believe I have lost 23 pounds without much effort. Oatmeal and a banana for breakfast and a 6 inch Subway sandwich for lunch has pretty much been the routine. We have big plates and small plates at home and I pretty much eat the same stuff for dinner only limiting it to the small plate for portion control. I feel so much better than when I was eating primarily fast food all the time. I also lost another notch on my belt. Still looking for the plateau to happen and to have to start to work at it. Luckily it will warm up outside soon and then Otto will be wearing me out playing outside. Til next time be good.
